Hundreds of SESU responders were educated by graduates of our Training of Trainers program, improving their knowledge and skills for emergency situations.

SESU Capacity assessment

The SESU capacity assessment project in Ukraine involved a team of international experts working alongside Ukrainian counterparts to evaluate and improve the capacity of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).The project included assessing current capacity, identifying interventions for long-term sustainability, and collaborating with SESU functional working groups to gather input.

Localised Assessment Methodology

Labrys UA implemented a localised assessment methodology led by a Ukrainian team, allowing for in-depth research and collaboration with local counterparts to accurately assess SESU capacity.​​

Providing international expertise

Labrys UA assembled a team of international experts with proven experience in Ukraine since 2022 to process information and identify interventions for developing long-term, sustainable capacity within SESU.

Formation of SESU functional working groups

Labrys UA worked with key stakeholders in SESU, including Command, Rescue Operations, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and CBRN branches, to establish functional working groups that provided valuable focus group inputs for the assessment.

Impact

The outcomes of the SESU Capacity Assessment conducted by Labrys UA included increased SESU capability to respond, objectivity in data processing, evidence-based recommendations, and feedback integration from project participants.
